LAST LONG WALK
Its has been noted that when a brave has outlived his usefulness, he begins his last long walk separating himself from the tribe and then waiting to die. This is the journal of Frank Swank from the period of his last long walk.
June 7th
Found leather to resole moccassins. The computer monitor failed. Luckily I had a back up. I have charted a general course toward the west, but I am still not sure of a time table. I still need to sell the furniture and stuff I don't need, so that I have the maximum amout of cash on hand when I leave. I've decided I have been spoiling my self too much in order to try and drive the blues away while waiting for a job that is never going to come. I'm thinking a laptop would be a good companion on the journey, but I don't want to buy one until the last minute. And I still have fiurged out how to keep all the old art files together without spending money. Yes, I am not even on the road yet.
June 9th
I still don't have the junk cleared out of my life. I am still sorting out what to keep and what to take. I have promised myself I will have all the useless stuff out of my life by the end of the week and then start sorting through the useful. And I need to take the furniture to the consignment center this week. But, I don't want to spend the money.
I should have the moccassins resoled this week. I get the leather today.
June 10th
I have 3 moccassins resoled the low tops have turned out fine. The hightop has issues at the toe, but it was the first one I worked on and had to learn. I can't believe I have sore muscles from the work.
I still haven't gotten rid of the furniture or taken the pieces to the consignment center.. Soon, I will go through and organize the apartment for the other guy to come in and buy out the apartment.
I almost bought the laptop yesterday. I think I'll buy it for my birthday after I move the funiture to the consignment center.
June 14th
The last sole has been sewn on the moccasins. I am very low on energy and cannot even get more stuff sorted out. I rent the truck Monday to take the first load, my secretary, my display case and maybe the chaise, to the consignment center. I added a new stop on the route and plan to shoot most of the video and stills during what is known as the magic hour in cinematography. I wish I was already on the road.
June 16th
I have continued to decorate the walking stick. It is made of Cottonwood which I hope will have some sort of magical devining properties when I get it into use in the right place. I need to add some dragonfly symbols though to give it some kind of life.
Have not rented truck yet maybe after check gets posted.
June 19th
No progress today, but while reading the paper and looking out the window I wrote.
Peace sign tattoo
behind her left ear
waiting for a whisperSo I did make some progress.
June 22nd
After having meet the Govenor of the State two weeks ago at a fundraisng event where I volunteered to help greet,, I've become listless and have not made progress toward the walk. I need to get rid of the funiture by the end of August. I think it is the heat and humidity.
June 24th
I've started working on choreography of last dance sequence. But, I've not finished the cape. I will probable wait until I reach the first dance location and work on it there. The atmoshpere will be different, correct. I will also be in a better mood.
June 30th
I finished the map for location for a dance, one stop on the walk.
October 1
It looks like the walk will not take place until the weather cools. Sometime soon and the route has been changed as well. Sometimes I think I will never be finished.
October 17
First trial entry on the road. Seems to work. Tripped delayed.

Day 3 Let down by the world. Just some pretty pictures to show for it.

Day 5 Broken down again. I crossed that bridge though.

Nothing resolved.

Trip wasted.
